Getting Started

How do I start using Coach Meister as my soccer substitution app?

Create your team, add your players, and then start a new match from the Home screen. On the lineup screen, place players in the correct starting groups, review the game format and rotation settings, and continue into the match. Once the game starts, Coach Meister guides you through the planned substitutions and lets you make manual adjustments if something changes during play.

How do I create my first team in this player rotation planner?

Open the Home screen, tap the team menu, and choose 'Add New Team'. Enter your team name, continue to the sport format screen, review your game settings, and finish setup. Once the team is created, you can immediately start adding players and preparing for your first match.

How do I add new players for my youth soccer rotation?

From the Home screen, open the add-player flow and enter the player's name first. You can then add optional details like a jersey number, notes, photo, and contact information before saving. After saving, the new player returns to the team list on the Home screen so you can keep building your roster. You can also use the 'Add Another' action to quickly enter multiple players without returning to the Home screen each time.

Rotation & Match Management

What rules does Coach Meister use to calculate fair playing time?

Coach Meister works out how much playing time each player should get, then builds a rotation plan to keep things as fair as possible across the team. You can adjust rotation intervals (like every 5, 10, or 15 minutes) and override settings like subs per rotation before kickoff. If something changes during the game — like a late arrival or injury — the app automatically rebalances the remaining time so no one misses out.

How do I adjust rotation settings before kickoff?

Before you start the match, use the lineup 'Settings' area to control how Coach Meister will handle substitutions. You can change the number of subs per rotation, adjust the rotation interval, and decide whether to use the calculated rotation plan or a more manual setup. This gives coaches a way to match the substitution logic to the size of the bench and the style of the game.

How do I preview the planned rotations before the match starts?

On the lineup screen, open the 'Rotations' segment to preview the upcoming substitution groups and their planned timestamps. This is useful if you want to sense-check the generated plan before kickoff or adjust settings until the rotation flow looks right for your team.

How do I make a manual substitution during a soccer match?

Open the live team view and drag the outgoing player onto the incoming player or target area. If the change matches the planned rotation, Coach Meister applies it directly. If it does not match the planned sequence, the app still lets you proceed while recording the substitution as an 'Out of Schedule Sub' exception to the plan.

What does 'Out of Schedule Sub' mean?

'Out of Schedule Sub' appears when you make a live substitution that does not match the currently planned rotation pair. Instead of blocking the change, Coach Meister asks you to record the reason and then updates the match state from there. This gives coaches flexibility for real-world decisions like fatigue, injury, or game management.

What does the 'Prepare Subs' warning mean?

'Prepare Subs' is an advance warning that a rotation is getting close. It gives coaches and players a short heads-up before the next substitution window so the sideline can be organized before the actual substitution moment arrives.

How do I start, pause, and resume the game timer?

When you first enter the match screen, use the main game control to start the match clock. The same control then lets you pause play and resume it again when needed. Coach Meister's match lifecycle is built around this flow so the timer, alerts, and rotation prompts stay aligned with the real game.

Can I use other apps on my device while tracking player game time?

Yes. Coach Meister is designed to continue handling match timing correctly when the app moves to the background. If you briefly switch apps during a game, the clock and match state continue to behave as expected when you return.

Match Reports & History

How do I record a goal in this soccer match report app?

Use the 'Goal' action from the match screen and select whether your team scored or the other team scored. Coach Meister then updates the live score and, when applicable, can guide you through recording the scorer and assist details for your own team.

How do I open match history and read match reports?

Open the 'Reports' tab to access your saved match history. From there, you can review previously played matches and open individual reports for more detail. Each report includes a timeline-style events view and a playtime-oriented view so you can review what happened during the match and how game time was distributed across the squad.

Can Coach Meister save my team, player, and game settings?

Yes. Coach Meister stores your team setup, players, and key match settings locally so you do not need to rebuild everything every time you open the app. That makes it faster to get ready for the next game and keeps your usual format and roster information close at hand.

Can I have multiple teams in Coach Meister?

Yes. Coach Meister supports multiple teams. The free version includes one team, and Coach Meister Pro offers unlimited teams for coaches managing multiple squads.

Coach Meister vs SubNow

How does Coach Meister compare to SubNow?

Coach Meister is a modern sub rotation app that goes beyond what SubNow offers. While both apps calculate fair player rotations, Coach Meister adds live substitution alerts, post-match reports with detailed playtime data, real-time plan adjustments when players arrive late or get injured, and a completely redesigned interface.
